Placing objects

place_bus_entry

Place the diagonal stub joining a bus to a wire.

Usage

place_bus_entry <X> <Y> [SizeX] [SizeY]

Angle brackets mark required arguments and square brackets optional ones. Available in the schematic editor. You can issue this yourself, and the AI agent issues the identical command — there is no second, hidden interface.

2 required, 2 optional.

Behaviour

SizeX and SizeY are the signed offset from the anchor to the far end, so the sign picks the diagonal direction; both default to 2.54 mm. One end must land on a bus and the other on a wire. The entry asserts that the wire is a MEMBER of the bus; WHICH member is decided by the label on that wire, so label it with a member name (D3 for a bus called D[0..7]) or ERC reports the entry as unresolved.

How the agent uses it

  • The agent works in a perceive / act / verify / recover loop: it describes the design, issues place_bus_entry or another command, checks the result, and undoes the change if the check fails.
  • Commands report what they actually did. A refusal is a result, not a silent no-op — which is what lets the agent recover instead of building on a change that never happened.
  • Anything the agent can do here, you can do yourself, and the reverse.
