Wiring and nets
disconnect
Take one pin off its net, leaving the rest of the net alone.
Usage
disconnect <Ref> <Pin>Angle brackets mark required arguments and square brackets optional ones. Available in the schematic editor. You can issue this yourself, and the AI agent issues the identical command — there is no second, hidden interface.
Arguments
RefPin2 required, 0 optional.
Behaviour
The exact inverse of connect on the netlist: afterwards this pin is on a net of its own, every other pin that shared a net still shares it, and nothing else moved. Already alone is success and changes nothing.
Refused, with the reason, when cutting wires cannot achieve that: when a LABEL or a power symbol holds the pin on the net (removing it would change what the sheet means somewhere else), when another pin sits on the same point, and when the pin sits mid-span on a wire that carries other pins — freeing it there would cut that net in two.
A power symbol the cut leaves driving nothing is removed with it, and named in the result; one undo puts everything back.
How the agent uses it
- The agent works in a perceive / act / verify / recover loop: it describes the design, issues
disconnector another command, checks the result, and undoes the change if the check fails. - Commands report what they actually did. A refusal is a result, not a silent no-op — which is what lets the agent recover instead of building on a change that never happened.
- Anything the agent can do here, you can do yourself, and the reverse.
